Zinneke Pis in Brussels
Everybody probably knows Manneken Pis, a famous statue of a boy peeing. However there are 3 peeing statues in the city. The most recent is Zinneke Pis (1998), a dog peeing, which can be found at the corner of rue des Chartreux and rue du Vieux-Marché. In Brussels dialect the word “Zinneke” means bastard dog. It is said that Zinneke Pis is symbolizing the mixture of populations living in the capital.
If you are lucky, walking along the street you may encounter the original dog model for the
sculpture since his owner Mark lives in the neighbourhood!
