Fabian van Roy – Belgian’s Best Barman 2019

Last Wednesday, June 5th, the final of the 2019 bartender competition of the ‘Union des Barman belges” took its place. The Hotel was proudly represented by one of its bartenders, Mr. Fabian Van Roy. With his many years of experience, Fabian managed to blow away the jury with one of his signature concoctions, a cocktail called GLOBE TROTTER.

Fabian was judged on his technicality, his creativity as well as the taste and the balance of his creation. Of course, Fabian doesn’t do things half way. So, he bravely ended up on the top step of the podium awarding him the title of “Best Belgian Bartender 2019”.

Fabian is proud to share the recipe of his delicious cocktail “GLOBE TROTTER”:

–       2 cl Aquafaba

–       1,5 L homemade iranian black lemon syrup

–       2 cl fresh lime juice

–       2,5 cl melonjuice LOOZA

–       6 drops Chartreuse elixir

–       2 cl Yusu liqueur MARIE BRIZARD

–       4 cl rum Chairman Reserve

Next step, Fabian has the aim to become the best barman in the world! This is why he soon will be flying to Chengdu in China to attend the World’s Best Bartender Competition. A contest where 50 bartenders will be competing for the title.
