Take a book, return a book. The concept is as simple as that. Economical & ecological!
Americans Todd Bol and Rick Brooks are said to be the originators of this idea and started with creating little boxes where people could put the books in that they’ve already read to give someone else the chance to read. In the United States the Little Free Libraries are even equipped with a GPS signal so they are easy to find.
And now Brussels has it’s own book boxes based on this concept. Yves burggraaf de Jonghe d’Ardoye d’Erp, responsible for Culture in Ixelles spotted book boxes in Vézac a village in the South of France and decided to also implement this in Brussels. The first box has been installed at Place Flagey (building La Cambre / Architecture) followed by a second one at the entrance of City Hall. Let’s hope there will be a lot of book boxes installed in Brussels!
