The Restaurant by Pierre Balthazar is delighted to welcome Macarena de Castro from restaurant Jardin* in Alcùdia (Spain) amongst its chefs and international collaborators.

Pierre Balthazar will welcome the Spanish chef to celebrate this new distinguished collaboration and they will prepare 2 lunches (27 & 28/01) and an exclusive diner (28/01) together at The Restaurant*. Book this gastronomic experience now!

Like her predecessors – Michaël Fulci from Les Terraillers* in Biot, Oth Sombatch from Aux Trois Nagas in Paris and Luigi Taglienti from Il Ristorante Trussardi alla Scala* in Milan (who she replaced) – who all followed Pierre Balthazar’s concept, Macarena de Castro has to use the same 9 basic ingredients and transform these with her expertise and Pierre’s help into an incredibly varied menu!

This Spanish chef has been cooking from an early age and cut her teeth with master chefs. Her restaurant, Jardin*, was crowned with a Michelin star in 2012 and has become a successful family business as well as a true hotspot for foodies.

Museum Night Fever, the 8th Night of the Museums in Brussels

No cultural blackout in our museums! On Saturday 7 March, no fewer than 23 museums in Brussels will be opening their doors for the 8th Museum Night Fever, the annual celebration of Brussels museums.

Museum Night Fever 2015

Between 7pm and 1am, nocturnal creations from musicians, dancers, performers, visual artists, designers and actors are going to be invading these museums. The idea behind Museum Night Fever is to provide an alternative to the classic museum visit and present the collections to the public in a contemporary way. The programme is the result of close collaboration between the museums and almost 500 young people from art schools, academies, youth clubs, artists’ collectives and a circus school as well this year.

Pierre Balthazar says goodbye to good friend Luigi Taglienti (*) of restaurant Trussardi alla Scala (*) in Milan, and welcomes Macarena de Castro of restaurant Jardin (*) in Alcúdia, Spain. She creates a Spanish & personal interpretation of the 9 seasonal products for The Restaurant menu together with Pierre Balthazar. Come and discover her interpretation in The Restaurant as from January 2nd.

Also known as ‘the Mallorcan’, Maca de Castro, chef-owner of the Jardín (*), since she was born in 1981 and from 18 years has been working at the stoves. She found her vocation by attending conferences, traveling and performing stages. From her beginnings as a sous chef, she has combined work and training, both at the Balearic Escola d’Hoteleria as with renowned chefs, including Hilario Arbelaitz, Andoni L. Aduriz, Ferran Adrià and Julian Serrano. She gave a dissertation at the Madrid Fusion and has a Michelin star since the 2012 edition.

The Restaurant menu is created by the personal interpretations of the 9 seasonal ingredients by Macarena de Castro Jardin (*) in Alcúdia, Spain, Michaël Fulci Les Terraillers (*) in Biot-Cannes, and Oth Sombath of the Thai restaurant Aux Trois Nagas in Paris 16ème.
